Edit item sales

Post by pauld6825 » Mon 09 Nov, 2015 6:11 pm

Is it possible to edit an item sale previously exported to MYOB? If not, are there alternative ways to achieve the same objective?

For AccountRIght 19 and earlier versions of MYOB TransPost uses the MYOB ODBC driver. This only permits adding new sales. Deleting and updating of any sort are simply not possible.

For AccountRight Live TransPost uses the API. The current version performs the same transactions with that as for the older versions of AccountRight as the priority has been on enabling existing users of TransPost with the classic version of MYOB to upgrade to AccountRight Live and continue to use their existing TransPost mappings.

The API provides the ability to update sales and has the potential to provide the ability to:
  • Change order or invoice details such as delivery address, memo, customer number
  • Add or remove items
  • Change item line details
  • Convert order to invoice
  • Delete order or invoice
We have plans to extend TransPost Plus to perform some of these functions, depending on demand. This would likely take the form of adding an 'allow updates' check box to sales (and purchase) mappings. Such updating would be restricted to scenarios where the Order or Invoice number, or purchase number for purchases, is part of the input data.

As you can see from the above list, there are quite a number of potential functions that would need to be covered and the validation required to ensure that the outcome is appropriate is potentially complex so feedback on the level of interest and likely scenarios would be appreciated.

They all look extremely useful, particularly
- add remove items
- change item line details
